When We All Get To Heaven

The day fast approaches when we will see Jesus face to face, smile to smile, joy to joy. Between now and then, clouds WILL overspread the sky, but a song like this one encourages us see his light through the darkest storm and hear His voice through the loudest thunder. Give the song a listen, then come back and we’ll talk about warming up for the greatest victory lap ever.

Three BIG “DO NOT’S” from Jesus

Usually people don’t like the words “DO NOT”, but what marvelous promises are wrapped around three “do nots” in this verse:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled, and
do not let them be afraid. (John 14:27)

When we all get to heaven, we’ll sing and shout the victory. But we don’t need to wait until then to practice living in peace, with untroubled hearts and free from fear. That is a promise straight from Jesus himself. When Jesus says “do not” in this verse, the instructions carry a promise. We don’t need to be afraid! Wonderful!

Forecast: clouds

We know all ends well for God’s people, but we can expect some cloudy skies as we faithfully walk toward the glorious time to come. Let’s resolve to be strong in God’s mercy, grace and joy. Let’s show a starving world the love of Jesus and help those who hunger and thirst for righteousness to get into the wonderful family of God.

These are days to get to know our Savior better and better as we help others get to know Him, too. What a privilege!

Sing our way home

Wonderful songs like this one draw us toward the promises of help available now and glory to come. Let’s keep songs like this bubbling in our hearts and send the clouds away. Let’s sing and let the SON SHINE prevail!

God bless you lots!

LYRICS: When We All Get To Heaven
Text: Eliza E. Hewitt, 1898
Tune: Emily D. Wilson, 1898

1 Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
Sing his mercy and his grace;
In the mansions bright and blessed
He’ll prepare for us a place.

Refrain
When we all get to heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus
We’ll sing and shout the victory.

2 While we walk the pilgrim pathway
Clouds will overspread the sky,
But when traveling days are over,
Not a shadow, not a sigh.

3 Let us then be true and faithful,
Trusting, serving every day;
Just one glimpse of him in glory
Will the toils of life repay.
